About Me

I often feel that I haven’t settled on “my style.” However, my most recent works using collage as the main medium are very exciting to me and may be my style. Prior works that depict structures defined by graphic line work helped lead me in this new direction. Then when I feel stuck, I can still retreat in to the comfortable, familiar representational landscapes. And there’s still time for discovering new mediums and artistic expressions such as encaustic, alcohol inks and assemblage. In the slide show on the home page, you’ll see all of these sides of me. Who needs just one style anyway?
Getting to this point with my painting has been a dance between my right and left brain. As an artist, my left brain guides my realistic eye and my technical nature but my right brain is drawn to the abstract and representational view of the world. Fortunately for me, I have connected with an instructor and a group of artists who have encouraged my left and right brain, allowing my unique view to come through.
